"En su obra fluyen diversos discursos estéticos simultáneos, pero ajenos entre sí. Utiliza la imagen fotográfica para consumar el acto pictórico, esto es: pintar no a partir de la realidad, o en su defecto de la realidad de la imaginación, sino de una imagen dada, donde la realidad es ya una mediatización. Por otra parte, integra su imaginería -los títulos de las obras, los temas y la manera de presentar los personajes con discursos performáticos, dándole un sentido opuesto al espíritu del arte efímero [...] Nos encontramos ante una muy particular especie de costumbrismo expresionista, por así nombrarlo, en esta serie de deleitables cuadros que nos hablan del estar en el mundo". "Several esthetic discourses coexist in his work simultaneously without being mixed together. He uses photographic image to consummate the pictorial act: painting not from reality, or from imagined reality, but from a given image where reality is already mediatized. On the other hand, he makes up his imagery -titles, topics and the way of portraying characters- with performance qualities, giving an opposite sense to ephemeral art […] We find ourselves before a very specific kind of expressionist costumbrismo, to name it somehow, in this series of agreeable paintings that talk about being in the world".
